1. Teddy Bear Cut
The teddy bear cut is one of the more popular cuts that owners choose when bringing their pooch in for a trim. This style of haircut leaves your dog feeling and looking soft and fluffy. It's a transition between a puppy cut and a retriever cut.
The tail and the face are shaved just a tad bit shorter than the rest of the body, which has an even cut throughout. This cut is great for keeping your pup clean and owners have the option of adjusting the length if desired. This cut gets its name because of the teddy bear appearance that it leaves.
2. Lion Cut
The lion cut is most often found on Pomeranian dogs. This might be because their fur color usually resembles a lion's colors and the cut adds the perfect touch. For this cut, the hair on your pup's body is shaved pretty short.
But, the hair around their head or face and sometimes even at the end of the tail is left long, resembling that of a lion. If you can imagine your little furry friend with a lion's mane, then this is a cut to consider.
3. Puppy Cut
The puppy cut is a standard dog haircut that fits every breed of dog just the same. It's basically a simple trim, but it works great for getting your pup used to the groomer. The hair is trimmed evenly throughout the entire body and maintaining it is as simple as brushing through it.
4. Show Groom
If your dog is a recognized breed by the CKC or AKC, then you should consider giving him or her a show groom cut. The show groom cut brushes out your pup's hair and trims it, leaving it in its full length.
5. Lamb Cut
The lamb cut leaves about 1/4 an inch of hair length on the belly, neck, and back. In most cases, the groomer will use scissors to cut the hair around your dog's head, tail, and also his or her legs. A #30 clipper blade can then be used to trim the hair, blending the whole body into the legs.
The ends of the tail and the ears are normally left fluffy to give the appearance of a lamb, hence the name lamb cut.
